As TOP Performance Consulting’s website evolves, I am keen to broaden its horizons as much as possible. I am starting with the introduction of a ‘Guest Blog’ which will provide different perspectives from people highly accomplished in their fields.
I am delighted, therefore, to announce the posting of the first Guest Blog. It is written by Dr Paul Marciano who I met during my time in the US. Paul is a leading authority on employee engagement and retention. He has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Yale University and has worked in the field of Organisational Development for over 20 years. Paul founded a consulting company, Whiteboard, in 2003 which helps organisations cultivate, manage and grow their human capital through executive coaching, training, facilitation, and team-building workshops.
I was first drawn to Paul’s work when I read his recent book, “Carrots and Sticks Don’t Work: Build a Culture of Employee Engagement with the Principles of RESPECT (McGraw-Hill, 2010). I was impressed by the real-world case studies described in the book, as well as the strategies for increasing employee discretionary effort and reducing turnover in organisations. Paul’s RESPECT™ Model that has been embraced by schools, medical practices, pharmaceutical companies, manufacturing facilities, sales organisations, consulting firms and government agencies in the US.
Enjoy.
